It is our pleasure to announce the Trans-Atlantic Plastic Surgery Summit (TAPSS), a combined meeting of the Scandinavian Association of Plastic Surgeons (SCAPLAS) and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) in Reykjavík, Iceland taking place in June 2020.  The 17th Nordic Burn Meeting and the 10th Nordic Congress of Nurses in Plastic Surgery will also be a part of the Summit.

This is the first meeting of its kind – a plastic surgery-focused summit that brings surgeons, nurses, and residents together from Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States.  This Summit will not only connect plastic surgeons professionally from across the Atlantic Rim and beyond, but also will help forge and reinforce friendships that can last throughout our careers. Featuring three clinical tracks, as well as social events each evening, TAPSS is designed to set a new standard in educational and wellness excellence.

The Summit will be held in Harpa Reykjavik Concert Hall and Conference Centre that is located in the heart of Reykjavik, overlooking the Faxaflói bay and Mount Esja.  It is close to most of the Summit hotels, art galleries, shopping areas and restaurants.

June – Iceland’s month of “the midnight sun” – is a wonderous time for a visit.  We will offer various excursions hoping participants will use this opportunity to take time to enjoy the unique nature of Iceland as well as shape the future of plastic surgery together!

We are looking forward to seeing you in Iceland!

Halla Fróðadóttir, Chairman of the Organizing Committee
